The Champion e is the most advanced Wohlenberg perfect binder in North America, offering a host of state-of-the-art features that give you greater design and production choices for your books:

Several Binding Styles - Bindery 1 will be performing hotmelt perfect binding, PUR, Swiss brochure and true layflat adhesive binding styles with the Champion e. This range of binding styles ensures that we have a proper solution for every type of book application.

Format Flexibility - Does your current bindery tell you your books are too thin or too thick? With the Champion e, Bindery 1 can bind books as thin as 1/16" and as thick as 2-7/16".

Technical Precision - The highly-automated Champion e includes motor-driven adjustment of all main functions for consistency throughout each production run. The Navigator graphic user interface offers quick machine setup and retrieval of stored jobs for fast job changeover.

VSS Trimming Module - This specialized trimming unit undersizes the face of the book to allow for single-pass production of gatefolds and other foldout cover styles.

Quality Control - Every aspect of the design and construction of the Champion e is geared to provide the highest-quality bind. Optical signature scanning ensures that improperly loaded or positioned signatures are rejected - inline, at full production speed. In addition, independent cover registration and pressing stations offer exact placement and spine forming, even on books as thin as 1/16"!
