Swiss & Tape Binding With Swiss binding the cover is not attached to the face top edge, completely detached and the binding edge has an attractive cloth lining enclosing the sheets together. This is another form of perfect binding. Swiss binding will also dress up a piece like the black book or give the piece more flare on the simple projects, or without the cover it is called tape binding.
